Langdon Center for Canola Research and Technology
Ana and I are working pretty well together and have come up with a plan that combines both of our original concepts. The major differences in the originals were that Anas plan had a radial organization and was straight edged. Mine had a linear organization and had lots of curved lines. But, we each agree about placement of functions and orientation and, after combining our plans into one, we quickly agreed to go forward with it. Be harsh guys. Critical feedback is what really helps. I promise not to take it personally :) Any thoughts, suggestions, questions, and observations are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I enjoy the layout that you two have come to settle on. It is very expressive of the plant that you got.
ReplyDeleteHow were you able to follow the people with word press? I have been trying to do this, but I can't figure it out.
ReplyDeleteI think that you have a strong start... I know we talked about this in critiques, but I am going to blog them and maybe I will think of something new.
ReplyDeleteCorners are going to lead to spaces being unusable or space will not be as useful as designed. In your storage area in the upper point I think of a way that may be useful to you. Have ever visited the Guthrie in the Citites and saw the loading dock? If not they have a huge hydraulic door that covers all of the entrances to the loading dock making it unseen to the public. You could do something similar and making the curve of that space a wall that trucks follow to enter the space...
Just a thought... I am sure you have the situation resolved.
i agree with the post above...watch out for the acute angles and the space use...the form to me seems to have an organic look and is very interesting...any models coming out soon?
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy the exterior space that is created by slightly detaching the greenhouses from the majority of the plan. Nice entry.
